Ultrasound
Dr. Bolin of Performance Medicine is a provider of Ultrasound imaging.
Ultrasound imaging is useful for identifying the correct localization of injections. It’s also helpful for the diagnosis of injuries such as nerve entrapments and muscle tears. Moreover, Ultrasounds are much less expensive than an MRI.
Exertional Compartment Syndrome Testing
Exertional Compartment Syndrome occurs when blood flow in the muscles, most commonly of the legs, increases during exercise. This causes swelling, pain, and abnormal sensation such as numbness in the lower extremities. There is frequently a delay of 9 or more months from the onset of symptoms to the diagnosis, because the condition is usually mistaken for “shin splints.” The diagnosis can only be made by direct measurement of the pressure in the muscles before and after exercise.
